Privacy
Policy.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
OrderDeck helps restaurants take orders, manage menus, send kitchen dockets, process payments, and understand sales. This Privacy Policy explains how OrderDeck ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website, iPad app, iPhone admin app, and related services.
Information we collect
Account and restaurant information. When a restaurant creates an account, we may collect an email address, restaurant name, business details, staff names, roles, and authentication information. Approval PINs are stored as protected hashes and are not stored as readable PINs.
Operational information. The app stores menu items, modifiers, orders, notes, payment type, tax information, staff activity, printer configuration, and sales reports needed to operate the restaurant.
Device and diagnostic information. We may collect device identifiers, app version, sync status, error logs, and crash or performance diagnostics to keep the service reliable. We do not use this information for advertising.
Website information. If you join our early-access list or contact us, we receive the email address and message you submit. Our website does not use advertising trackers.
How information is used
We use information to provide and secure OrderDeck, synchronise restaurant data between authorised devices, produce reports, route orders to configured printers, provide support, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.
Offline-first storage and sync
OrderDeck is designed to continue working on the device when internet access is unavailable. Orders and operational data may be stored locally until a connection is available. When cloud sync is enabled, authorised restaurant data is synchronised to our service so approved devices and admin tools can access it. Local data remains on the device until it is removed by the restaurant, the app, or the device owner.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that host data, provide authentication, store menu images, deliver email, or help us monitor and support the service. These providers may process information only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the security of OrderDeck and its users.
Retention and security
We retain restaurant information for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, comply with legal requirements, and maintain legitimate business records. We use access controls, protected credentials, encryption in transit, and role-based permissions. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Restaurant owners and authorised managers can request changes to restaurant data. Contact us using the details below and we will verify the request before acting on it.
Children
OrderDeck is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy as OrderDeck changes. We will publish the updated version on this page and update the date above.
